Do you love playing around with makeup? Women, no matter their age, prefer to enhance their beauty by emphasizing their eyes, rather than their skin or lips. Since eyes are the window to our soul, it does make sense that you may want to make them pop with some makeup tricks. Also, once properly done, our eye makeup can last us for 8+ hours, unlike the foundation or any much-loved lip gloss. If you want to look wide and awake, beautiful and youthful 24/7, and if you want to avoid any possible makeup mistakes, this article is for you!
Make Your Eyes Pop In 5 Steps
Follow these ultimate 5 rules and you will enjoy a bright and beautiful makeup. No one will be able to tell that you’ve only had 4 hours of sleep, and everyone will ask you for advice!
1. Shadow Application
Eyeshadow will help you achieve a rounded eye makeup look the quickest and the easiest. Before getting into the process, make sure you have at least 3-4 round fluffy blending brushes, one synthetic brush, and an angled brush as well. You can use these brushes to apply the color evenly and precisely. Also, different brushes mean clean and precise color distribution, which is exactly what you need.
Apply the shadow in such a way that you create a subtle ombre effect. Start off with a lighter shade at your inner corner, and apply darker shadows on the middle and outer portion of your eye. You can play around with a basic combo, such as white, nude and brown shadows and enjoy an everyday simple eye makeup look. This shadow application will open up your eyes and will look great no matter the shadow combo that you go for.
2. Lash Extensions
If you are not blessed with naturally luscious and flirty lashes then you should get a pair of lash extensions. These will transform any eye makeup look into a feminine & sexy attention-seeking outcome. You can get these lashes done at any certified salon and you can go for either soft and natural lashes, or for a full Russian volume lash extensions. Lash esthetician will apply the lash extensions one by one on top of your natural ones. You will be able to control your lash material (silk, mink, faux mink), length level (0.6 mm – 12 mm), and your volume (full, natural). However, the esthetician can give you suggestions and customize the lashes based on your eye shape and preference. You two should come to a mutual solution since this will look the prettiest on your eyes in the end. Once done with the process, know that you won’t need any mascara, and you will enjoy the perfect lash for 2-3 weeks! Also, these are waterproof and so sturdy, no reason to worry about some makeup mishaps.
3. Waterline
The best way to open up your eyes is with a waterproof eyeliner. Use any pencil or kohl liner in your waterline, or even a gel-based solution (if you are a pro) to open up your eyes. Use a white or nude colored eye pencil and gradually apply it to the waterline. Make sure you don’t smudge your makeup if you are someone who has sensitive eyes, and know that practice makes everything perfect. You can also go for a light blue, pink or yellow, but stay away from black, brown, or green since these will make your eyes smaller. Once done don’t forget to apply a bit of mascara onto your lower lashes to finish off the look.
4. Concealer
Dark circles or any form of discoloration can make your eyes appear tired, dull, and small. You should fight this discoloration with a bright and illuminating concealer. Go for something that has a yellow undertone, and stay away from any coldness or blue toned foundations/ concealers. Apply a full coverage concealer using your fingers or your favorite brush or a beauty sponge. Make sure you set the product with either a light pressed powder, or with your favorite translucent powder. No reason to hide the luminosity with some darker and matte shades, stick with something lighter or transparent, as well as illuminating.
5. Highlight
Lastly, give your face some life & shine with your favorite highlighting product. Every woman loves a good and bright highlight, so make sure you pack it on as much as possible. You can use some on your inner corner (as close as possible to the tear duct), and pack some underneath your brow. This will open up your eyes and make them appear wider than they actually are.
